Margaret Helen Weston went to meet her Lord and Savior on April 7, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born to John and Helen Gimmey on December 12, 1924, she grew up in the Mt. Pleasant area. Margaret married the love of her life, Roger Weston, on December 23, 1945. He preceded her in death, as well as her parents, two brothers, sister and her daughter Patricia, and son-in-law Darwin Headley. Margaret is survived by her son, Roger (Debbie) Weston; daughters, Diane Headley, Linda (Michael) Lewandowski; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Dorothy) Gimmey; brother-in-law William Weston; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, George Thompson. Margaret was a loving and gracious wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent pie baker, and was well-known for her coconut cream pie. Her love and care for others led to her work as a nurse’s aide for many years in care facilities, and later as a volunteer in those centers. She had a special place in her heart for elderly people, and a gift for caring for them. A celebration of her life will be held at the South Church of the Nazarene, 401 West Holmes Rd., Lansing, MI on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. with the Reverend Larry McKain and the Reverend Harold De Mott officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the Church. Interment at Eureka Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter, 310 N. Main, Suite 100, Chelsea, MI 48118 or American Cancer Society, 1755 Abbey Road, East Lansing, MI 48823.
Thank you, Lord, for allowing us to be part of Margaret’s love and graciousness. Her Christian spirit was ever present in her daily walk with God, and through her compassion and love for others. She will be dearly missed. The family is being served by the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Mason, MI.
