Norma Jeanette Strickland

Norma Jeanette Strickland, age 97, passed away April 28, 2025. She was born October 7, 1927 in Lansing, to Clifford and Sylvia Pond. Jeanette, as she preferred to be called, was a member of the Mason First United Methodist Church, and the Mason Seniors Club. Over the years, Jeanette bowled on a league, square danced and round danced, ballroom danced, traveled the United States, trailer camped, snowmobiled, enjoyed boating, playing cards, and most of all loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren without reserve.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Danette) Strickland, Grandchildren Janean (Kaleb) Belman, Kyle Strickland (Kassi Schmeichel), Lacey (Eric) Vandenbrand, Devin Reavis (Ashley Curtis), Step-Grandchildren Kenda Rude (Kurt Bryde), Rhonda (Jamie) Vowels, 11 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Step-Great Grandchildren.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Ferris Jr. Strickland, daughter Connie Reavis, brothers Zenas and Donald Pond, sisters Treva Williams and Helen Welch.

Jeanette's funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 621 South Jefferson St., Mason, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mason First United Methodist Church.
