Robert Henry Anderson, age 89, passed away peacefully April 6, 2015, at Capital Area Health and Rehabilitation. He was born August 31, 1925, to Henry Rasmussen and Mary Gertrude (Richards) Anderson.

Robert was a farmer at heart and loved the land. He graduated from Mason High School and attended Michigan State University. He honorably served in the United States Navy during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Tommy L. and Jean R.; and brothers, Jean and Gail.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Doris; daughters, Brenda (Paul) Petrow and Johanna Andersen; son, Thomas; daughter-in-law, Siobhan (the late Jean R.) Duffy; granddaughters, Shannon (David) Martin, Catherine (Eric) Leung, and Sarah Howe; great- granddaughter, Elizabeth Martin; and great-grandsons, Jackson Martin, and Andrew and Mason Leung.

Graveside Services with military honors will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 17, 2015, in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, MI.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Capital Area Health and Rehabilitation for the loving care they gave Robert.
