Robert L. Tellner

Lansing, Michigan

Age 91, died September 2, 2011; born August 10, 1919 in Lansing. Mr. Tellner was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lansing where he served as an usher and retired from Meijer’s after many years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 788, American Legion Capital City Post # 12 , proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII and liked to spend time gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Tellner. Surviving are his wife, Rose; daughter, Mary Beth (Walter) Houpt; son, Martin; 3 grandchildren, Kristen (Michael) Mireles, Gabriel (Kelly) Houpt and Alex (Alise) Houpt; great-grandchildren, Michael and Jordan Mireles, Elisa, Cannon and Rheilynn Houpt. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 7, 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing, Mason with Rev. Fr. Kusitino Cobona, officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason Tuesday from 6-8 PM with the Rosary at 7:30 PM.
