

Mason, MI
Born March 28, 1927 in Lansing, son of George and Freda (VanEpps) Webster, died peacefully at home on June 8, 2012, at the age of 85. Royal was raised in Dansville, MI as one of 11 children. Royal was a sports star at and graduated from Dansville High School in May 1945. He immediately entered the Army and proudly served his country in Germany as the war ended. After his service he met and married Donna J. David (deceased 2008) of Mason in July 1948. They were married for 60 years and had three sons, R. Daniel, Jr. “Dan”, Craig, and Brad. They moved to Mason in 1955 after starting their family in Battle Creek. Royal was very active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Pee Wee football in collaboration with his beloved older brother Glenn. He was devoted to his large extended family and enjoyed outdoor recreation, travel and helping others. He liked to tell stories and bad jokes. He was a lifelong sign painter and artist. He retired in 1992 from Central Advertising, but continued painting signs for many Mason and Dansville institutions such as the Mason Historical Society and the Dansville Fire Dept. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Surviving him are his sons; daughter-in-laws, Mary Beth (Dan) and Reiko (Craig); 5 grandsons; Noah (wife Jessica), John (wife Mai), Kenzo, Brad, Matthew; granddaughter Elizabeth (husband Al); and 4 great grandchildren (Seth, Harrison, Ella J., Ella L.).
Royal is also survived by his brothers, George Bisel, Gary Bisel and wife Judy, Roger Bisel and wife Madge, Carol Clark and husband Aaron.
Royal was preceded in death by his father, George; mother, Freda Bisel; step-father, Otis Bisel; brothers, Glen Webster, Ronald Webster, Robert Bisel, Richard Bisel, Jim Bisel; and sister Nancy.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make a contribution to any Hospice or other charity organization of choice in honor of Mr. Webster.
