Edward Kurila

EDWARD KURILA age 90, of Mayfield Heights, OH. passed away on April 1, 2024. U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Popernack). Dearest father of Edward Jr. (Susan), Barb Laule (Chris), Theresa Krug (Bill), David Kurila, Carol Kurila (Gary). Devoted grandfather of Chris Laule (Danielle), Anita Laule (Josh), Andrew Kurila (Ashley), Jim Kurila (Rachel), and Kendall Kurila, great grandfather of Oliver Laule and Emelia Kurila. Dear brother of Steve (Sheila, deceased), John (deceased) (Mary). Beloved son of the late John & Mary Kurila. Dear Uncle, cousin and friend to many. Edward served in the Army for 2 years 1953 to 1955. In 1956 he met Mary Ann. They got married August 23, 1958. After getting married, they moved to East Cleveland, OH and then to Mayfield Heights, OH in 1963. When he first moved to Cleveland, OH in June of 1951, he worked at Clark Controller and later worked in the warehouse at Fisher Foods Warehouse. From there he retired when he was 62 and was retired for 28 years. Edward was a dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi. Edward enjoyed gardening, watching sports and old Westerns on TV, solving crossword puzzles, and visiting the casino. He will be remembered for his love of these hobbies. Edward made sure everyone knew he was around, he loved being the center of attention.
