Jerome "Jerry" W. Catalano

JEROME W. "JERRY" CATALANO age 83 U.S. Navy Veteran, passed away April 20, 2017. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Martin) for 58 years; dearest father of Kathleen Staude (Gary), Donna Silk (Thomas) and Diane Catalano; devoted grandfather of Joseph Silk (Elizabeth), Shannon Silk, John Silk and Kaitlin Staude; dear brother of Thomas (Liz) and Mary Ellen Korejwo; uncle and great uncle to many.

Jerry was active in many facets of pleasure boating serving as Commodore of Lake County Yacht Club, Commander of the Greater Cleveland Boating Association and Commander of the Cleveland Power Squadron. He served on the Lake Erie Safe Boating Council and received a commendation from the US Coast Guard for his Homeland Security American Water Watch and was also named Greater Cleveland Boating Association’s 2008 Boater of the Year. Jerry conducted vessel safety checks, lectured for the Power Squadron boating classes, and was active in many Mayfield Village functions serving on four committees.

Jerry was a proud graduate of Benedictine High School and remained a close friend of the Benedictine family throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jerry’s memory to St. Andrew Abbey, 10510 Buckeye Rd. Cleveland, OH 44104. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Tuesday April 25 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd. Gates Mills, OH 44040. Interment All Souls Cemetery.
