Matthew was loved by many, and brought joy to the lives that he touched. He was a dutiful son, loyal brother, and generous uncle. Matthew was often described by others as a kind soul, whether a person had a brief encounter or lifetime with him. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and had a deeply empathetic nature.
Matthew graduated from Gilmour Academy and studied Graphic Design at the University of Akron. Although just shy of graduating, he kept his artistic talent alive through illustration. He was a very gifted artist, and told many stories through his work. Matthew also enjoyed reading books on history, particularly about ancient civilizations and religion. He was a believer in God, and had the ability to connect spiritually.
Matthew held his mother and father, sister, niece, and family dogs dear to his heart. He valued the time that he spent with them, as well as the moments with his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Matthew also appreciated the friendships that he formed in his life, especially the support and love freely given to him. Matthew had two favorite ways to spend his free time. He loved to play catch in the yard with our family dogs: Ginger, Sadie, and Cinnamon, as it brought all involved deep joy. The occasions, however, spent with his niece Katherine, were the most invaluable and precious moments of his lifetime. Matthew will be missed immeasurably, and his loved ones are finding comfort that he is enveloped in God’s loving embrace. He was, and will continue to be, loved unconditionally.
