Michael Artino passed away peacefully in his home on July 19, 2025 surrounded by his beloved wife Patty, dear friends, and his sweet dog Charlee. Born and raised in Shaker Heights, OH, Michael was the son of Rosalie Paluch and the late Nick Artino, and brother to Marilyn Graffy and Nicki Lee Artino. He was cherished across generations and held a special place in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Michael graduated from The Ohio State University, where he discovered his lifelong passion for horticulture. Michael was a visionary that couldn’t be stopped by high temperatures or an unexpected freeze. He was a tough and hardworking man on the outside, with a curious, creative, and loving heart on the inside. He had a keen eye for design and an appreciation for fine wine and delicious food - often enjoyed with the Italian Gentleman’s Club. In 1975, Michael and Patty founded Art Form Nursery, beginning with a small plot on Music Street. For 5 decades, they nurtured their dream into a beautiful 36-acre nursery that supplied plants to thousands of commercial and residential projects across Ohio. This year marked Art Form’s 50th anniversary - a testament to Michael’s vision, dedication, and resilience. His legacy continues through Patty and the devoted team of staff they built together at Art Form. Michael was a loyal friend, a respected boss, and a generous soul. In the face of daunting health challenges, he found strength in Patty’s loving care and the comfort of Charlee. In his final days, he was surrounded by love from family and friends, including cousins Susie and Bobby Zimmer. Michael’s loved ones extend heartfelt thanks to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for their compassionate and excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s memory to a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
