

Robert “Bob” Herman Karger, age 87, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on March 23, 1938 in Cleveland Ohio to George and Bernice (nee MiKenas) Karger.
Beloved husband of the late Carol (nee Papes) for 66 years. Loving father of Laura Leuty (James). Devoted grandfather of Andrew Leuty and Amanda (Zach) Newton. Dear brother of George (deceased) (Rose), Allen (deceased) (Cindy) and Thomas (deceased); and dear brother-in-Law of Dorothy Papes. Uncle of Christopher (deceased), Gregory, Phillip (Sarah) and Meredith Davis (Anthony).
Bob dedicated over 30 years of his life to Hough Bakeries and never lost his passion for baking. In his later years, he also found joy in woodworking, gardening, solving jigsaw puzzles, and especially celebrating Christmas. For many years, he delighted in hosting holiday gatherings where he proudly showcased his beloved Christmas Village and festive decorations—traditions cherished by family and friends alike. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including his loyal Labradoodle, Trouble.
The family would like to thank the staff of Danbury Senior Living – Mentor as well as Hospice of the Western Reserve for the compassionate care provided to Bob.
