I worked for Abel as the EVP in the Washington Bank and have fond memories of his leadership and generosity. The learning process working I received help me in my future position as a successful President CEO of a bank in New York City. I consider Abel my friend and a person I’ll never forget. I was saddened to hear of Mr. Holtz's passing and offer my condolences to the Holtz family. I recall with much pride my time working at the bank he founded where I learned so much and met great people. As a fellow Cuban American, I was always proud of working there. May he rest in peace. Shalom.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Abel Holtz. 

I had the privilege of representing him for a period of time.  I say privilege advisedly, as it was truly an honor that he sought my legal services. 

When I visited Abel in his Miami Beach office, I was in total awe. His reputation as an astute businessman was well-deserved but  understated.  I have never met anyone as sharp as Abel. He quickly assessed the circumstances and made decisive judgments. When a dispute was involved, although he wanted to know his rights, he was more interested in doing the "right thing" even if it meant giving up some of those rights.  His benevolence was unmistakable.

I also had the privilege of working with Javier while he was with Union Planters Bank.   Javier has certainly carried Abel's torch.

I am greatly sorrowful for all the members of his family for experiencing such a great loss. May the Lord bless him especially as he receives his eternal reward.

Abel was an amazing man with many accomplishments that I was proud to have as my uncle. My Dad was so proud of him and loved him immensely. He will always be remembered and may God bless him.
