We mourn the passing of Benjamin Gindy, who did not go gently into the night. With courage
and resilience, he fought against the tides of Mother Nature and Father Time until reaching his
95th birthday. His strength and tenacity were a testament to his incredible spirit.
He was the most loving and beloved husband and father to Deborah Weed, Danny Gindy, and
David Gindy. His wife Judith Gindy, a kaleidoscope of personality and entertainment maven,
passed years ago — she was with him for 50 years of their journey together. His love extended to
his grandchildren, Drew and Mathew, their wives Brooke and Ellen, and his great-grandchildren,
Sky, Brooks, Summer, and Bridget. Benjamin cherished his family and inspired them with his
unwavering support and wisdom.
When asked, he always said that his three children were his most treasured legacy. His boundless
love transcends life itself. Although heartbroken, we know he will forever reside in each one of
us forevermore.
Benjamin had a distinguished career in the insurance industry with Guardian Life Insurance. He
dedicated his life to ensuring that families were taken care of after the loss of their loved ones.
As the president of the CLU, he was a leader and innovator, always seeking new ways to
improve the industry and help others.
A visionary ahead of his time, Benjamin founded Green Solar Power before solar energy became
a global movement. His pioneering efforts set a trend that would shape the future of renewable
energy.
His gift for storytelling was unparalleled. Like a modern-day Yoda, every word he spoke was
filled with wisdom and inspiration. His stories continue to resonate, offering guidance and
insight to all who knew him.
Here’s one of the stories that share his wit:
DO OR DIE
By Benjamin Gindy
Mother Nature and Father Time had an emergency meeting at the request of the Grim Reaper. It
seems that Grim Reaper had a ninety-three year old man whose birth certificate expired. So Grim
Reaper asked for advice from Mother Nature and Father Time.
“Well, why don’t you just stick your foot in his door,” they said. ”I already did that,” replied
Grim Reaper
Father Time asked, “What happened?”
“He slammed the door on my foot and broke it,” said Grim Reaper.
His favorite poem:
TIME
Henry Van Dyke
Time is too short for those who wait. Too swift for those who fear.
Too long for those who grieve.
Too short for those who rejoice.
Time is an eternity for those who love.
In addition to his professional and personal achievements, Benjamin was a compassionate soul
who touched the lives of many. He often saved lives through his private counsel, offering help
and hope to those in need.
Benjamin's legacy is one of love, innovation, and boundless wisdom. He will be profoundly
missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate to know him.
Rest in peace, Dad. Your legacy will continue to in
