
GABLE, David, longtime Hollywood resident, made his mark on South Florida and passed peascefully October 16 at the age of 96. Brave soldier, prolific developer/general contractor, beloved husband, gather and grandfather,Lived his life as described in his high school yearbook (Thomas Jefferson High School, Brookly, Class of 1936). "A football player who doesn't play the grandstand."
Born February 7, 1918 on a farm in Parsippany, New Jersey, youngest of eight children of Max and Anna. Enlisted in the Army Air Corps in january, 1942. Decorated for bravery for his service as a Waist Gunner during multiple missions aboard B-17 "Flying Fortress" bombers, but always insisted that the real heroe are the ones who never came home. Flew in the D-Day invasion of occupied Europe, ans saw duty in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany.
Returned to New York and married hs sweetheart Janet. They were married nearly 69 years. Also survived by daughter Phyllis Dolinsky (Jerome), son Miichael Gable (Barbara, and grandchildren robert dolinsky and Jaclyn Dolinsky.
Platted and constructed the County Club Homes and Fleetwood Manor Subdivisions in Hollywood. Recognied by the Cityof Hollyowood in 1995 as a "Pioneer Representative" in commemoriation of the city's 70th anniversary. Builth the firrst condominium apartments in hallandale in 1962 (Eldorado County Club), and together with his attorney at the time, helped write the original Florida laws governing condominiums. Served on the grievance committee of the Florida Homebuilders Association and helped set highter standards for the building industry. Scrupulously honest and fair withnumerous subcontractors, employees and customers. "Better than to know the Torah is to live it - to be righteous." He was.
Services Sunday, October 19, 10:00 am, Temple Beth El, 1351 S. 14th Avenue, Hollywood, with interment flolowing at Mount NEbo Cemetery, 5505 NW 3rd Street, Miami.
