Denis Arthur Russ

Denis A. Russ, June 28, 1942 - April 12, 2026, was born in Newark, New Jersey, and lived in Miami Beach for more than 77 years. He attended Miami Beach Senior High School, where he served as President of Student Council and was recently accepted into the school Hall of Fame, and went on to earn his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He later earned his Juris Doctor and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Miami. Denis’s passion for community development led him to play a pivotal role in the creation of the Miami Beach Community Development Corporation. He was instrumental in shaping the Art Deco District and transforming South Beach into the vibrant community it is today. Denis also served on the boards of People Acting for Community Together (PACT) and Temple Beth Sholom. Denis is survived by his loving sister, Lori Mishkin (Andrew Kern); his devoted brother, Richard (Gina) Russ; his cherished nieces and nephews, Eric Mishkin, David (Jill) Mishkin (Max, Sam); and Brooke (Chad) Perlyn (Ethan, Merritt); and his beloved extended family, Maria (David) Pellerin Barcus, Philippe (Grace) Pellerin (Gigi, Julian), and Monique Pellerin Cuadros (Olivia, Gloria).

Shiva will be at Temple Beth Sholom, 4144 Chase Avenue, Miami Beach, FL, 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Minyan will be at 6:00 PM.
