

Jean Gordon Cohen Busch, 102, passed away April 4 in Bal Harbour. Devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, lifelong businesswoman and entrepreneur, author of four books, Miami pioneer, and public and private philanthropist. Born in New Jersey, she managed her mother's dress shops and Atlantic City hotel. Relocated to Miami with husband Morris Cohen in 1950. As proprietors of Southern Farms Market in Overtown and then Liberty City, they were community advocates. She later became business administrator of Summers on the Beach in Ft. Lauderdale. Widowed, she remarried S. Harry Busch, who predeceased her. Major donor to Hadassah; known for her private generosity, warm heart, beautiful style, business acumen, wisdom, creativity, leadership and zest for life.
Survived by: brother Seymour (Pearl) Gordon; daughters Goldie Cohen (Ken) Wetcher and Suzanne Cohen (Allan) Migdall; grandchildren: Karen Rappaport (Jonathan) McHugh, Steven (Katerina) Rappaport, Serena and Elyssa Wetcher; Rachel Lando (Michael Carroll), Sari Lando and Alexander Migdall. Great-grandchildren: Aliza Jane, Sean and Casey McHugh; Benjamin and Joshua Rappaport; Chloe Wetcher; Maya Carroll. Predeceased by sister Ada Gordon Cooper and daughter Judge Maxine Cohen Lando. Deep gratitude to dedicated caregivers: lifelong friend Mary Jackson, Pauline Gayle, Rosemary Warren, Elsie Scott, driver Nick Barkley and assistant, Debbie Rodriquez. Funeral: 11 a.m., Sun.
