

Lionel Pincus passed away on December 25, 2018 at the age of 86. Born and raised in St. Augustine, Florida, Lionel and his identical twin brother, Jules, spent some of the best years of their lives as the quarterback and left end/fullback of the Ketterlinus, High School football team where their favorite past times were dancing, football, and dating cheerleaders. After graduating from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida where he was a proud member of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity, Lionel and Jules, along with partners, Bob Schockett and Carl Wasserman, teamed up to own the Lee’s Pharmacy chain of stores in Miami, FL serving the community for forty years from 1957-1997. Besides football and dancing, Lionel loved running his store at 401 Miracle Mile, coaching Khoury League baseball, playing tennis and golf, riding horses, and especially being a wonderful son, brother, father and grandfather to his loving family.
Predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Nancy (d. 2006), and sisters Irene and Shirley, Lionel is survived by his brothers, Jules (Rae) and Ron (Anne) Pincus, four children, Debi (Clark Mervis) Goldenberg, Sherrie (Andy) Howard, Bonnie (Jeff) Terrill, and Alan (Karen) Pincus, nine grandchildren, Sean (Allison) and Joshua Goldenberg, Kevin and Brian Howard, Brad, Scott and Bryce Terrill, and Adam and Lauren Pincus, and great granddaughter, Dylan Goldenberg.
The funeral will take place graveside on Sunday, December 30th, 1:30p.m. at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapel/Mount Nebo Kendall 5900 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, FL 33143. (305) 274-0641.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lionel’s memory to Temple Israel of Greater Miami. Shiva will be held on Sunday immediately following the funeral at the home of Alan and Karen Pincus.
