Mimi M. Siegel

MIMI 86, of Bay Harbor Islands passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2022. Mimi was born in Brooklyn, New York and spent nearly her entire life in Miami. She was the devoted wife of Harold (Hal) who predeceased her in 2020 and dedicated mother to her three daughters Darcee (Dr. Ira Lelchuk), Cindy, and Beth (Bill Ginsburg). Grandma Mimi enjoyed spending time with her three grandsons Dr. Andrew (Ashley) Lelchuk, Alex Lelchuk, and Adam Lelchuk. She especially cherished welcoming her great-granddaughter Lana Florence Lelchuk last year whom she loved and adored immensely. She loved Facetiming with Lana and reminding her daily that Bubbie Mimi loved her. A true independent and spirited woman, Mimi became a dental hygienist at the age of 19 and treated many patients in Bay Harbor Islands for over 40 years. As her older daughters went off to college, Mimi went back to school while still treating patients and received her Bachelor of Science degree from FIU. She received her degree in Health Management and became a dental clinic administrator on Miami Beach where she served for many years until her retirement. After retirement, Mimi filled her days with Yoga (Yogurt, as she always called it), playing mahjong and sharpening her skills at weekly bridge games. Mimi was one of a kind. She had a wicked sense of humor and always had an opinion or comment on all matters. Mimi lived life to the fullest and always looked forward to catching up daily with friends and family. She had a perseverance, determination and love for life and family. Funeral services will be held in private at Lakeside Memorial Park.
