Norman Elson passed away at age 95. He was born in New York, in 1921, to Alex and Mary Elson. He started school, Stuyvesant High school New York, University of Michigan, and New York University, he was a Track star, and held the record for the 220 low hurdles which was never broken. During World War 2, Norman was a hero in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944, with the 101st Airborne. His men who died there never left his heart and mind. He and his wife Diana (Aibel) having had an enviably 71 years together. Professionally he was an attorney, and developed a real estate company. Their children, Andrew and Ilisa, their grandsons Adam and Brad, and great-grandsons Alexander and Jackson, all lovingly enriched his family life. Harold and Eleanor Aibel, brother and sister for life, added faithful love and caring. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, many Elson cousins, and long-time friends all over the world. Norman was a life member of the South Miami Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Mahi Shrine. He was an accomplished boat Captain and Navigator, roaming the Islands with Mate and friends. Funeral service will be at 11am Friday, Feb. 3, at Bet Shira sanctuary, 7500 S.W 120 St. In Kendall, and internment will be at Old Mt. Nebo, 5505 NW 3rd St, Miami. Shiva will be at home Friday,Saturday night, Sunday and Monday.
