

Zebulon J.Brodie, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 24, 2013 at 82 years old, may he rest in peace. He was brilliant, a one of kind genius visionary, creator, and philanthropist with selfless generosity that touched entire communities. In high school, he was the quarterback of the football team and received two football university scholarships. He was also captain of the high school basketball team. He devoted his life to his beloved family and his work as a developer. He also farmed acres of land. He was the Founder of South Shore Hospital in Miami Beach, which was created to care for the elderly population and later became a source of study for geriatric medicine at the University of Miami. He built the first town houses on the Miami River designed with an architect that studied directly under Frank Lloyd Wright. He built and restored buildings and shopping centers, opened businesses all over the Eastern Shore of Maryland that created jobs for more than 100 families. He freely donated his forty -stall horse barn to care for horses that were afflicted by Potomac fever and stayed up with the horses day and night with a veterinarian to save their lives. He is survived by his wife Beatrice Brodie, his daughters Mindy Brodie and Suszanne Brodie Kaiser, and his grand children Jennifer Kaiser, Harry Kaiser, and Steven Alexander Brodie. The Funeral will be held at Temple Beth Shalom 4144 Chase Ave. Miami Beach Thursday February 28th at 11am.
