Betty Gail Richards was called home to our Lord on November 15, 2021. Betty was born on August 20, 1953 in Slagle, West Virginia to John and Martha Maebelle Delong. Betty was the oldest of four: Jeanette (Larry) Palmer, John Delong, and Lola Mitch.
Betty married the love of her life, Marty Richards on August 11, 1990 in Orange Park, FL. They enjoyed 31 loving years together. She is survived by her three children: Donnie (Tami) Kelley, Danita (Frank) Washington, and Bobby Lee Pope.
Betty worked 30 years in retail services. She enjoyed spending time with family and telling stories of the old days. She never met a stranger and would help anyone that needed it. Betty loved sitting around playing dice and having a good time.
Betty is preceded in death by her dad, John Delong. She is survived by her spouse, children, siblings, granddaughter, Tawny Allisa Kelley, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty will be remembered by family and friends as a loving wife, mother, sister, granny, great-granny, aunt, and cousin.
A Visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at Hardage - Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068, and Memorial Services at 11:00 am. Committal Service will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg ,FL 32068
