Donald "Don" Mills

Donald "Don" Mills, 88 passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family. Don was a man of strong character, unwavering integrity, and work ethic that spoke volumes about the kind of man he was. Yet even greater than his dedication to his work was the eep love and devotion he had for his wife and family. They were his greatest joy, and he cared for them through every season of life.

Don lived a long and full life. His strength was not only seen in what he accomplished, but also in his steady presence and quiet wisdom. He worked hard his ntore life - whether serving in the United States Navy for twenty-four and a half years, retiring in 1977 as the Master Chief of Command an E9, working the land in Kentucky, tending to his property at home, or caring for his garden with pride and patience. He found purpose in hard work and peace in the simple things in life.

On October 21, 1955, Don married the love of his life, Elsie Faye Rose. Together they shared seventy and a half wonderful years of marriage filled with love, perseverance, and family. During those years, Don and Fay raised six children and were blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Clarence and Cordia Jackson Mills; his brothers, Clarence Jr., Brad, Charley, Hobart, and Jim; his beloved wife, Faye; his sons, Donld and David; and his grandson, Kyle.

He is survived by his children, Dani (Laurie), Dennis (Brenda), Dwight (Diane), and Dianna (Mason); his daughters-in-law, Barbara and Deborah; his brother, Ben; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Though our hearts grieve hisabsence, we are thankful for the many years we were blessed to have Don with us. His life was one marked by dedication, sacrifice, quiet strength, and enduring love. May we honor his memory by carrying forward the values he lived by so well - and cherish the simple blessings of life. He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
