He is survived by his wife Freida; six children, Jack, Charles (Kristen), David (Kira), Nancilyn (Jacob), Don (Megan), and Emily (Mervyn); two brothers, Charles (Bernie), and Wyatt; sixteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, along with many extended family members. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Violet Warren, sister Nancy Parkinson, and brother-in-law Linn Parkinson. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, graduated from Lee High School, and attended LaGrange College and East Carolina University, majoring in Commercial Art. Don was a professional graphic artist, and after retirement started an eBay store where he sold unique items and books. He saw art in everything and found joy in selling unique items to others who found memories in these items. Don loved spending time with family and playing backyard sports, especially football and badminton. He had many artistic talents, including painting and photography, which were inherited by his children and grandchildren. Even on days when he felt bad, he never lost his sense of humor, making light of the pain he was going through to make others smile and laugh. His faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was very important to him, and Don would want everyone to know the Lord and find comfort in the love and peace that only comes from Jesus Christ. He was a proud veteran who served in the US Army from 1968-1971, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea).
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 2, 2024, at Orange Park Christian Church, 2876 Moody Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073. His final resting place will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
