

Donna Lynne (Sides) Peavler was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 10, 1944. She grew up in Jacksonville Beach and Jacksonville and after attending Paxon High School, she worked as a Head Cashier for Pick N’ Save. When the Navy transferred her husband to Lemore, California, she moved there for two years in the early 1970’s. Then she moved back to Jacksonville and became the Comptroller for Canteen of Jacksonville, Inc. In 1975, she moved to Middleburg, Florida and retired from Canteen in 1995. She was a faithful Christian and part of the Black Creek Church of Christ for 40 years. Donna truly enjoyed living in the peaceful nature of Clay County, caring for her numerous pets, and feeding wild birds and wild critters every day for many years. She died peacefully at Kindred Hospital North Florida, in Green Cove Springs, on March 29, 2026. She was surrounded by family and lots of love.
Donna was predeceased by her mother, Helen Maurice Miller (née Costello, formerly Pope and Sides); father, Walter Cletus Sides; two half-brothers: Walter William Pope and Milton Maurice Pope; and her loving husband, Edward Peavler.
She will be greatly missed by her three children; Lawrence (Kelley) Peavler, Sharon Dasher (née Peavler), and Jeffery (Jeanne) Peavler; six grandchildren: Nicholas (Erin) Peavler, Katie (Jacob) Riffle, Laura (Alexander) Barron, Trevor (Maura) Peavler, Sarah Peavler, and Logan Peavler; and her six great- grandchildren: Ryan, Connor, Nathaniel, Grayson, Jackson, and Thomas.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 2, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida 32068. Following visitation, the burial service will be at 2:30 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
Matthew 11:28-30: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
