George Watson, 82, passed away Sunday August 26, 2018 at his home in his sleep. George was born September 25, 1935 to the late Nora Gibbs and George Watson. George enlisted in the Navy at the young age of 16, retiring after 20 years of honorable service. George continued his career, doing what he loved best, as an aircraft structural mechanic. He worked for many companies including Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Northrop Grumman. George and his wife Nancy, were married in Green Cove Springs, Florida on March 7, 1996. Together they enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, boating, and spending time with family and friends. While Nancy was the love of George's life; Bluegrass Music was his passion. George was an avid banjo player, he also played the guitar and many other instruments. George enjoyed picking and grinning anytime, anywhere and all for the benefit of others. George was a proud member of the American Legion Post 250 and the VFW Post 8255. George will be dearly missed by his wife Nancy Watson and many other family and friends. George was a sweet gentle man, always with a smile on his face. He was loved by many. A memorial service will be 2 PM Sunday September 23, 2018 at American Legion Post 250
