

Henry Martin Banalewicz Sr. (Hank) 79, of Middleburg, FL died on March 7, 2016 peacefully at his home in Middleburg in the early morning hours. Henry was born on November 11, 1936 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Walter and Stacia Banalewicz. Henry married the love of his life, Janet Louise Schwarz on July 9th 1964 in Newport, Rhode Island. He served 32 years- active duty, beginning in 1954 when he joined the United States Air Force for 4 years and then joined the United States Navy where he served until he retired as Senior Chief in 1986. After retirement he went on to become Lieutenant with the Clay County Sheriff's Department Reserves. From there he worked for the State of Florida prison system where he retired in 2011 as Food Service Director II. Henry is preceded in death by his brothers Walter, Matthew, Stanley, Eddie, Jimmy, Pete and Joe and his sisters Viola and Helen. He is survived by his sisters Bertha Rozycki of Fall River, Massachusetts and Wanda Dajnerowicz of Naugatuck, Connecticut. His wife Janet Banalewicz of 51 years, Middleburg, FL, daughters; Michelle and Frederick Bealls of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Stacy and Richard Voss of Okeechobee, FL and Pamela and Richard Quesenberry of Middleburg, FL, sons; Brian and Christine Banalewicz Sr. of Middleburg, FL and Henry and Ana Banalewicz Jr. of Homestead, FL, 22 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren with one on the way. The family will be receiving visitors Wednesday, March 16, 2016 6-8 PM at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road Middleburg, FL 32068 and funeral mass will be at St. Luke's Catholic Church 10:30 AM. Reception at St. Luke's immediately following and then funeral procession to Jacksonville National Cemetery where Henry will be laid to rest. All are welcomed!
