James Victor Jarvinen, 62, passed away on February 19, 2022 in Orange Park, FL. He was born in Ishpeming, Michigan and was Valedictorian when receiving his BA at ITT Technical Institute for Computer Science. James served his country proudly in the United States Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic working on aircrew survival equipment. After retirement, James went on to work at Moosehaven in Orange Park for 8 years.
Riding motorcycles wasn't just a hobby for James, it was a lifestyle. "Phantom" proudly rode with the LVMC. When he wasn't riding or working on motorcycles, you could find James building and shooting guns or playfully harassing his grandchildren. His witty, inappropriate sense of humor was sure to make you laugh, and probably shake your head. James was loyal to those who were loyal to him, a steady and reasonable soul, but as he was fond of saying, "I'm peaceful, not harmless."
He is survived by his children: Amy (Brandon) Boesl, Kayla (Matt) Medley, Misti (David) Dotson, Miranda White and Matthew (Sue) Freeman; nineteen grand-children: Allen Boesl, Owen Boesl, Libby Boesl, Aubrey Boesl, Devin Jarvinen, Victor Medley, Timothy Milton, Jacob Milton, Colton Milton, Addison Milton, Sydney Dotson, David Dotson, Emerson Dotson, Destany Underwood, Elijah Underwood, Jace White, Justin Carlton, Noah Carlton and Mason Carlton; a great-granddaughter, Saphira Milton; brother, Jaron (Mark) Jarvinen; partner Rachel Meierdierck; and many other extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 PM, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL in Lane 2.
