

Jeffrey Ralph Castle, 50, of Middleburg, FL passed away Sunday, March 1st, 2026. A celebration of his life will be conducted at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, June 27th, 2026 at Eagle Landing Golf and Country Club in Orange Park, FL. Jeff is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ralph Herbert Castle, his paternal grandmother, Jenny Mae Castle, maternal grandfather Thurman Irving Miller, maternal grandmother, Recie Perry Miller. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cortney Castle; two children, Gunnar Castle and Savannah Castle; his parents Ralph and Gloria Castle of Beckley, WV; a sister Jackie (Keith) Hurt of Beckley, WV; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and close friends. Jeff grew up in Beckley, WV and graduated from Independence High School in 1993. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1994. Jeff was proud of his service to his country. He spoke fondly of his time in the military and the guys he made life long memories with during his service. In 1998 he went to Marshall University, earning a bachelor’s degree, and a passion for “The Herd.” Jeff spent the next twenty three years in the railroad industry, starting with CSX, then Genessee and Wyoming, and last the Pinsley Railroad Group. Jeff loved his work and the treasured colleagues he made there. This career relocated he and his family to many places, including, NC, WV, NY, CT and FL, along the way, they made life long friends that became like family. When not working, Jeff enjoyed watching his children do what they loved the most, whether it was baseball, basketball, soccer, or theater, he was there cheering the loudest. He was an avid fisherman and golfer, taking full advantage of recent years in the FL sunshine. During his time in western NY, Jeff developed a passion for the Buffalo Bills, and was known for wearing his Bills gear proudly and chanting their fight song every Sunday.
