Grantham, Leon E., 76, passed away at his home Sept. 14, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Augusta, MS, to Isaac and Ellafare Grantham. Leon was a resident of Middleburg since 1971 and was a retired Dock Master working with the Jacksonville Shipyard for 42 years. He served in the National Guard from 1955-1960. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara Ellison Grantham; 3 sons:
Michael L. Randall Sr. and Jeffery R. (Dana) Grantham; sister-in-law, Jane Ellison; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-Grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews. Leon was a member of Black Pond Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm with his Pastor, Rev. Charlie Hunt, officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm at HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 BLANDING BLVD, ORANGE PARK and request those desiring to send memorials to Community Hospice.
