Marvin Borrell Nelson, 52, passed away August 24, 2021, from a brief illness while in the ICU. Born on August 24, 1969, in Bellevue, Nebraska and raised in Jacksonville, Florida with his younger brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin Henning Nelson Jr, Blanca Maria Borrell Nelson, foster dad John Robert Moosbrugger, father-in-law Densil Dean Quick, mother-in-law Judith Mildred Bazemore Quick, and brother-in-law Densil Dean Quick Jr.
On May 6, 1995, he married Cindy Gina Quick Nelson from Savannah, Georgia. They were married for 26 years, and they have four amazing children, Abigail Elizabeth, Caleb Borrell, Bethany Mildred, and Miriam Katherine Judith. He was a selfless man, and extremely committed to his family.
Other survivors include his brother Scott Alan Nelson, wife Amy Nelson, and son Alex Nelson; brother-in-law Aaron Scott Quick, and wife Tinatin Quick; sister-in-law Bridget Trina Trenado, and partner Pedro Pacheco; (foster mother) mom Mary Coultrip Moosbrugger; foster brother Peter John Moosbrugger, wife Kristy Moosbrugger, and daughters Haley, Taylor, and Ava; foster sister Katy Rose Maloney, husband Tucker Maloney, and daughters Fyona, and Mabel; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his best friend Johnnie Gibson Jr who he valued and viewed as a brother.
Marvin was a truck driver for All Site Construction in Jacksonville, Florida. He loved God and believed and studied the Bible. He enjoyed going to car shows, and he had a passion for working on his project car, a 1976 Dart. He was devoted to his wife, and children who were the center of his world.
The family will receive guests for visitation on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida 32068. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Church of the Redeemer Anglican, 4815 Executive Park Court, #201, Jacksonville, Florida 32216. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Church of the Redeemer Anglican. The family would like for everyone coming to the Celebration of Life service to please wear green to honor Marvin’s memory.
