Marv E Ragan, 91, of Orange Park passed away on Feb 23, 2023. He was born Aug 9, 1931 in Ponchatula, La . He served his country in the US Navy for 26 years but he did not retire. His wife Jan bought him and orchid for Valentines day in 1965 and from that he started his second career and love for growing orchids. He and Jan owned MAJ Orchids for over 50 years. He traveled all over the world collecting orchids from many different jungles. He was a emeritus judge for the American Orchid Society and a taxonomist for the World Orchid Conference.
Marv is survived by sons Robert (Mayla), Kim (Kate), Kevin (Dawn) and daughter Angie (Marin), 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 more great grandchild on the way. He is preceded by his wife Jan and his son Marvin (Skipper).
