Kathy and family,

I just happened upon Pat’s obituary and had no idea he’d passed. 

Tex was a good friend and I will always remember going on bike rides with him and Kathy.   Please know you will be with him again one day.   Death is not the end, I know this from personal experience.  
Please accept my prayers  and sincere condolences.  

Dad,

I'm going to miss you so much. I could not of asked for a better dad then you. You were always there for all of us (even though sometimes we didn't deserve it).  I remember when I was little and how you loved to embarrass me, rather it would be farting in the middle of the store and blaming it on me LOUDLY (lol), or trying to hold my hand going up the escalators as a teenager.  But boy, how I would love to hold your hand one more time. I don't know what I'm going to do without you. 
Who am I going to call late at night to answer all of my stupid questions or bring me medicine at 7am when I'm sick? You were the most selfless person ever. Even these past 4 months you were so sick, all you were worried about was your family. Never once would you complain about how bad you were feeling. Just know mom is going to be fine, we all will take care of her. I love you so much...until I see you again, fly high!  

In high school I lived with my grandmother and some days got boring. I lived about 5 miles from Pat. On those boring days, they would come alive when I heard Pat coming on that little Cushman Eagle bike. It was a site with two, long legged guys going down the road on that little bike, I don't think it would do more than 45 with all that weight on board.  Some times we would hang out and other times we would go back to his house and eat lunch. We just had fun doing things that young guys would do and not get into trouble. Fun times and good memories.

Pat was a dear friend in our high school days. We shared many great times together but lost contact once we graduated and each joined the military. Recently we were able to re-connect through mutual friends and Facebook. I was very fortunate to call Pat my friend and our visit last month after 55 + years was long over due. We were able to re-visit our fun times together and it was as if we had been in constant contact all these years. 

In visiting with his family, it was obvious of the love they shared and that he was a great role model. Pat always had a smile on this face in high school and I was fortunate to see a glimmer of his youthful smile during our visit. 

Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed but not forgotten. 

Pat, thank you for your service.  It is obvious your journey through life on this earth made a positive impact on many.

I meet Pat while we were in the Navy (VP-5).  We lost touch for about 45 years and then meet and spent 3 days with our wives in Mobile, AL in 2019.  Pat was the hardest worker I ever meet.  The world has lost a good and honest person and is a lesser place because of that lose.   Condolences to Kathryn and his entire family.

The kindest and sweetest brother in law anyone could have.  

Pat was my friend since I moved to Mauriceville in the 6th grade. There are several good memories of him from riding the little putting around scooters that a lot of the boys had and being a tomboy I was with them to riding behind him on his horse. The most precious thing he did for me was about 8 years ago I was going to have surgery and it could have been malignant and he called me late at night,  knowing I couldn't sleep and talked until I could sleep.  MY FRIEND  I will never forget that. Thank you my dear friend.  

Pat  was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. I don’t know how I’m going to find the strength to go on living my life without him. I loved him so much, in the good and bad times throughout our 50 years of marriage. Pat fought a good hard fight with the cancer that took him. I will truly miss him each and every day of my life. 

Patrick  and I  met in VP5, we paired up as a team to get aircraft flying again a couple times. We were together on deployments, our crowd was often together. Not many of us left. Gonna miss him. He was a proud man when him and Katherine got married.

 Patrick Rainey (PAT) is likely the best friend I have ever known. He took me under his wing when I was just a teenager. We worked together as partners for many years. To me he was a great friend,  colleague, mentor and a father figure. I will cherish are time together and the memories we made. My condolences to the Rainey family.
