

Patrick T. Rainey, age 73, was born January 15, 1948 Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late W. T. and Marcella Rainey. He passed away August 31, 2021 at Haven Hospice of Orange Park, Florida. He graduated 1963 from Mauriceville School in Mauriceville, Texas
Patrick grew up and lived in Texas with his mother, father, and brother ,the late Gerald Michael. As a young man, he worked drilling water wells before going in to the Navy at the age of 19. He was employed in Prop mechanics in the Vietnam war and served a honorable term (1/68-12/68 Camranh Bay, Vietnam). Once returning to the United States he was stationed at NAS Jax in Jacksonville, Florida doing aircraft mechanics. He retired after 38 years, 10 months, and 12 days combined with the United States Navy and Civil service.
Patrick lived an active life in many ways. His wife Kathryn and him enjoyed attending and being a part of their Motorcycle club (Wingnutts FL1-X) and traveling many places and making new friends with them. They are members of St. Luke's Catholic Church. He loved to be outside fixing things, gardening, and watched his garden, animals and children grow. Taking care of his family was top priority in everything he did. He was a loving father to three. Patrick Douglas Rainey (Diana), James Brian Rainey, and Melissa Marie Correia (Glen), and a grandfather to six Katelyn Renee Rainey , Ethan Patrick Russell Rainey, Braden Marc Correia, Aubrey Marie Correia, Kayden Gage Rainey, and Kaylee Ann Marie Rainey, and uncle to many nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to many.
Pat was cared for in his final months by his wife, daughter, and granddaughter Katelyn. He will be truly missed by many and will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 13th, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hardage Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Rd, Middleburg, FL 32068. A Celebration Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday September 14th, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 1606 Blanding Blvd, Middleburg FL., 32068. Burial with military honors will follow at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 at 2:00 p.m.
