I'm truly sadden for your loss to all of you.  Phil was one of a kind.  I worked with Phil at Goodrich.  He was very special to me.  He was always there for me when I needed help on my computer at work.  I would tell him what was going on with it.  I'd  get so upset trying to do something, then here comes Phil.  He would come help me and "tell me to slow down and make me show him what I was trying to do.  Nothing was ever so big to him.    He fixed the problem.  I always seen him drinking a 2 Ltr Diet Coke.  He truly like it.  Our friend is in Heaven having a grand time with Jesus.  All of us will join him one day.   
Prayers and thoughts are with Brenda and all his family.  



We were saddened to learn of the passing of your dear Phillip.  When I was growing up Phillip lived right up the road from me.  He was always such fun and a giving person.

Aunt Phyllis and Brenda.  
I want to share a memory of my cousin Phillip from our childhood . We grew up together going to the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church. Being the same age we were in the same Sunday School Classes. I think we were maybe around 12-13 years old and with some other members, Steve and Terri Collins, we  were  performing for church. Allen May have been in there but I doubt it because he can sing. 
We sang at Easter, “ Fairest Lord Jesus”. None, and I mean none of us could carry a tune. I remember thinking to my self, we are awful.  
The congregation was so kind though, although I bet they were cringing.  I loved that church and all the memories I have of it. 
So, I know now that Phillip is singing with a beautiful voice praising Jesus face to face in heaven. 


The last time I saw Phillip, he was with his wife Brenda. The two of them had such a sweet and special bond. They would look at each other and giggle like school kids. It was so refreshing to see them two still so much in love after being married for so long. He was a kind man and always seemed happy. He smiled being around the people he loved. I didn’t know his other kids but I do know that he will be deeply missed by his son Jimmy and grandson Jordan. The three of them were like the 3 Amigos. Always having a great time together. Losing Phillip is still shocking. May he Rest In Peace. 

Have known Phillip since school days. Always laughing and having a good time.  Only last week, I was wishing him a Happy Birthday. So sudden to to leave all his loved ones. I pray comfort for his family and many friends.

So sorry to hear about Phillip, he always had a smile on his face and seemed to be content in his life, I will keep all of the family in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this loss.  He will surely be missed!

I had the pleasure of working with Phil.  He was always smiling behind his illustrious mustache.  His raspy chuckle and "Can-Do" attitude were contagious.  We were better because of Phil.  He was one to  find simple solutions to seemingly complex situations, always with his 2-liter bottle of Diet Coke in hand.  My deepest sympathies go out to Phil's family at this time. But, knowing that this is not the end, rather a temporary separation.  I will cherish my memories of Phil.  I am a better person because of Phil.  Thank you Phil. 

What a loss of such a light in the world. I can’t remember Phil being anything than the sweetest and kindest soul. He and Brenda remained part of our extended family. He will be truly missed. My heart goes out to you Brenda. And to the  kids as well. What a legacy of love he left. Love you all.

Where do I start? My first memory of Phillip was 1st day of school 1955. We made friends that day and remained so until we graduated H.S. Countless memories of him including his playing second base on our baseball team. He was a good little player. Being a friend with him was natural and easy. I lost track of him after H.S. but would ask of  him every time I ran across Phyllis. Was not thinking of running across him at Les McDoowells funeral when I did. We had a great visit.  Exchanged information and when he called last year maybe for a visit when he was at Mt. Olivet I was looking forward to it. Guess something happened, and he could not make it, I know his passing is a very sorrowful loss  and I will miss knowing a good friend is not still with us. God bless your family and Phyllis.

So very sorry to hear of Phil's passing. I was at the Jacksonville operation for about five years, and in the first week, Phil was one who came forward to express a "welcome" to me as a newcomer. He was a very kind and respected individual.

We are so sad to hear of Phil’s passing.  I had the pleasure of working with him for many years at Goodrich.  He was such a great person.  He had such a helpful, kind 
Nature.  Everyone loved him.

Phil was a great man who loved his family as much as his  work. He was great at being a family man and a leader.  His most recent message to me was uplifting as it always was. He started off calling me young lady as he always did. When I read his email I could hear the way he said it. He was respectful at all times. He shared his learning of a new skill. He was always a fountain of knowledge and never stopped learning. His humor kept work light and days short even though he never worked a short day in his life. On my first day at work he played a trick on me. He made me feel welcome and appreciated. I hope he is smiling down with a cold coffee and a room temp diet coke, and maybe not using a screwdriver to start his van. I am so thankful I knew Phil as a friend, mentor and confidant. May all the wonderful memories of Phil flood our hearts and replace the sadness.

Phillip was predeceased by his father, Asbury (Alvin) Hester and grandson, Tyler Jett. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda R. Jett, mother, Phyllis "Jo" Hester, 3 sons: James (Paula) Jett and Phillip B. (Shawna) Jett, Joseph Brian Vincent, 2 daughters, Jennifer Selvereo, Kimberly (Mark) Allen, Uncle Mike (Phyllis) Buckner, 11 grandchildren Jordan, Samantha, Anthony, Shyanne, Laynie , Nick, Laila, Aaron, Michael, Summer, Hannah, 5 great-grandsons, a great-granddaughter, who is on the way, and a host of extended family and friends.
