Therese M. Zumwalde, 91, passed away on July 31, 2020. A native of Silver Lake, Minnesota, she established homes for her husband and children in a variety of locations as she traveled with her husband and family within the United States and overseas. Duty stations included Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, El Centro, Hawaii, Guam and Minneapolis before moving to Orange Park, FL in 1970. Terry has been a long-term member of St Luke’s Catholic Church in Middleburg. She was also a member of the Naval Weather Service Association, the Retired Officers Wives’ Club, the American Ballroom and Contemporary Dance Association, the Jacksonville Ballroom Dance Association and several Bridge groups. Therese is predeceased by her loving husband, Cdr. Richard Theodore Zumwalde and is survived by her 3 sons: Richard T. (Susan) Zumwalde, Jr., Steven C. (Karen) Zumwalde and Anthony L. (Holly) Zumwalde; daughter, Susan K. (Greg) Powers; sister, Rita (John) Fasching; 10 grandchildren; Laura (Ryan), Abby (Matt), Michael (deceased), Heather and April, Jeff, Olivia (Chip), Nikki , Jimmy and Tommy; 9.5 great-grandchildren; Tanner, Lily, Logan, Tate, Anna, Evie Claire, Matty, Jake, Ava and one on the way. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Wednesday August 12, 2020 at St Luke's Catholic Church, Blanding Blvd, Middleburg, FL. Graveside service immediately following.
