Albert James Marston

Albert J. "Al" Marston, 91, of Mint Hill, NC, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at his residence. Born January 14, 1921 in Hawthorne, NJ, he was the son of the late Frederick Marston and Etta Earl Marston.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Doris Melvin Marston, who he married on June 30, 1945 in Hawthorne, NJ. Also surviving are his son, Allen J. Marston of Mint Hill; former daughter-in-law, Rachel Marston of Mint Hill; three grandchildren, Renee L. Studley and husband, Jason, of Murphy, NC, Drew J. Marston and wife, Kirstyn, of Cincinnati, OH, and Casey C. Marston-Mullis and husband, Steven, of Mt. Pleasant, NC; and four great-grandchildren, Brittney, Brooke and Sophia Marston of Cincinnati, and Chloe Studley of Murphy.

Mr. Marston served in the US Army Air Force from September 1942 to September 1945, where he was stationed in Southern England with the 33rd Air Depot Group, specializing in aircraft ordinance. He and his wife moved to Mint Hill in June of 1984 to be near to their family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 in the funeral home chapel.
