Catherine Alger Snipes

Catherine went to be with Jesus on August 10, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Catherine was born in Brookhaven, Georgia to the late Zeb B. Rowell, Sr. and Aurelia Jordan Rowell. Her family came to Charlotte in the 1930’s where Catherine lived for the rest of her life.

Catherine graduated from Harding High School and was retired from Presbyterian Hospital.

She was also a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church. Mother enjoyed all of her church activities – traveling and spending time with her family.

Catherine was predeceased by her parents, husband, Kemp Snipes, sister, Edna Bingham, and brother, Zeb B. Rowell, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Anna Cline and husband, Larry, Anita Smith and Annette Smith; sister, Helen Burkovich; sister-in-law, Patsy Rowell; grandsons, Alan Cline and his friend, Michael Miles, and Doug Cline and wife, Lisa; great grandchildren, Cody, Callie and Cristen Cline; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in the worship center at Northside Baptist Church, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Barry Shearer will officiate. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
