A native of Pender County, NC, Mr. Wells was a U.S. Navy, World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn, in 1991, a daughter, Vickie, in 1954, and five siblings.
Surviving are his loving wife, Margie Wells; children, Kenneth Terry Wells and wife, Kandas, of Charlotte, Kathy Wells of Charlotte, Vannette Willis of Matthews, Robin Porter and husband, L.P., of Charlotte, and Jan Duncan and husband, Brad, of Mint Hill; a sister, Dera Barefoot and husband, Bobby, of Wilmington; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a funeral service to celebrate his life to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Bill Phipps will officiate. Interment will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha, NC.
