Jackie Dean Cooper

Born September 20, 1940 in Valdese, NC, Jackie was a son of the late Paul Clifton Cooper and Lula Mae Shidel Cooper. He retired from the Charlotte Police Department as a police officer after 32 years of service. Jackie was a much loved husband, father, brother and pawpaw.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Harriet G. Cooper; three children, Scott Cooper, Robert Cooper and wife, Debbie, and Tina Cooper Burnette and husband, Mark. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Kristina Nelson and husband, Chris, Megan Burnette, and Ashley and Christopher Cooper; two great-grandsons, Jackson Nelson and Jacob Nelson; his brother, Gary Cooper; and his three sisters, Barbara Norton, Ruth Radford and Verna Lee Deal.

A memorial service to celebrate Jackie’s life will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 15, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
