

James Herbert Jansen of Mint Hill passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. He was born on October 17, 1926 to the late Harry and Elizabeth Jansen in Cincinnati, Ohio. On January 27, 1951, he married Mary Ellen Blatt of Corry, PA.
James was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen, precious daughter, Marcia Anne Jansen and brothers; Paul and Joe Jansen.
James was loved and admired and will be greatly missed by his sons; John Jansen of Waxhaw, NC, Bob (Marilyn) Jansen of Pittsboro, NC , Rick (Cathy) Jansen of Columbia, SC and daughters; Jane (John) Howard and Kathy (Lee) Dunning of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren; Tracy Hyde, Josh Jansen, Melanie Jackson, Stephanie Jansen, Michael, Matthew and Chris Howard, Danny and Sarah Dunning and Ben Jansen, great grandchildren; Jared Bradley, Mikayla Hyde and Ace Jackson, brother, Tom (Liz) Jansen of Tampa, FL and sister, Irene (Jim) Pratt of Corry, PA.
James was a graduate of Gannon University and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a lifelong businessman and owner of Jansen’s Hallmark Stores in Matthews and Monroe, NC. James was also a founding member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Mint Hill, NC.
