A year later, and it still seems so hard to believe: No more Frank in this physical earthly realm. Though, you still live in our hearts and minds. We'll always miss you.

I will remember Frank as a person who was always on the go doing something. He never slowed down whether it was riding on his ATV & motorcycle, hiking or constructing a building. He always gave 100%.I knew Frank for over 20 years and will remember the good times we had atving, boating, camping etc. He was a friend of the family and will be missed.

I am at a loss for words.  I purchased some candy, cookies and crackers at Fruegal Frank's several days after Christmas and every time I open the boxes, I want to cry.  "Frank" was my "puzzle buddy".  Over the last several years he brought me a couple hundred jigsaw puzzles.  I would work them and give them back to him to sell in his shop if all the pieces were there.  When he would walk up the sidewalk with a box of puzzles my heart would leap for joy.  He would sit down with us for a while, have a glass of tea or eat a bite with us and upon leaving would always thank me for the tea and say "take care".  What a sweet person he was.  Rest in peace.  You will be so missed!

I only knew Frank for a year and a half, but he was the best man at our wedding. He was a gentle, kind, caring man with great character. My husband, Mike, knew him for 33 years. We miss him dearly. My sincerest condolences to the Rick family.

I came to know the Rick family by chance many years ago.  Anne would invite me over for the holidays and I became a part of their family.  James was very special in everyone's lives. I was devastated, I was doing my weekly stop by after lunch to find out he had passed! He was always very kind, and brought alot of good to our community. My whole family will be praying for every heart that is torn....May God calm and comfort your heart with peace!

Frank was a man of great stoic wisdom. I learned vastly from James over the years just by being around him. He also innately inspired fun and good times; if Frank was there that was the place to be. Thank you for everything, Frank. God bless you and your family.

I met James thru his brother Joe. James would stop by the Sub Station when I worked there to say hey and I was proud to be his friend. He was a good man, funny wit and we had some great conversations. Also I am proud to know the Rick family and my heart and prayers go out to them.

I met "Frank" through mutual friends Mike Brown and Mike Bozart.  He was such a kind hearted guy and will be truly missed.

Frank was an enriching, inspiring, endearing, loyal, and uniquely creative friend to me and my brother Joe for over three decades. Our adventures together could fill a 1000-page book. Such fantastic memories. The whole Bozart family is better for having known the Ricks, especially their youngest son. Never forgotten. R-I-P, bro.

Met James through a friendship with his brother Joe. James must have been 16 or 17 at the time and I was struck by his level headed maturity and polite kindness. What a genuine and good hearted man. All those who know James will sorely miss him here but rejoice in his life and know the Lord takes good care of the truly kind like James. I first met "Frank" in 1990 and immediately felt like I'd known him a lifetime. He was a giving, kind soul who would do anything for anybody. He had a love for the outdoors and music and couldn't sit still for long. He was always "prepping" for something. He was a great person with great talents and he will be forever missed.

I saw Frank grow from a boy into a good and caring man. His friendship with my sons through many years delighted this mother's heart. May God console all who loved him.

Frank was a good friend, every niece & nephew's favorite uncle, and just so kind-hearted. He even adopted greyhounds from Florida dog racers to save their lives. Truly one of the good guys. He will be sorely missed.

My children and I visited "Frugal Franks" often. We had the honor of being a part of dealer draw auctions and yard sales that he was a participant. Although we didn't know him beyond that..his passing has really touched our lives. He was always very nice and went above and beyond to be helpful. I really don't know who to direct this message to. But I always knew James as Frank. He was so nice and generous. I always loved to go to Frugal Franks and shop. I remember going to the store and he let me ride this pink scooter through the whole store. 
Frank knew me pretty well. He knew that if I was coming to go shopping that he could just disappear to the back of the store. The longer he took to check me out, the more stuff I would add to my buggy :)
However he would pretty much give me a discount on everything anyways ;)
My mom and Frank were like a team and there is no one that can replace him. He was one of a kind and will never ever be forgotten.

My deepest, deepest sympathies to the Rick family as well as to Shane, Brianna, Benjamin and Nicholas. James sure did leave a mark on those who knew him. What a character he was. He so loved Ben and Nicky and his family. He was such a compassionate, caring person and would give the shirt off of his back if someone needed it more than he. You are terribly missed already James~! My love and prayers go out to all of you. May God wrap his loving arms around you and give you the strength you need to get through this.

James was always the quiet, warm, funny one.  When we all got together, it was always James who I'd take a few minutes to sit quietly with and end up giggling, uncontrollably, with his sweet, droll comments about everything and everyone.

I first met "Frank" about 37 years ago.
We were never close but always civil.
I never knew him to have a harmful bone in his body. I moved from Charlotte and didnt keep in touch as I should have. 
I know this about Frank, he was liked and loved by those he met.

All who knew James "Frank" Rick loved him. He was kind to everyone, generous, funny, sweet, thoughtful, compassionate, and a loyal friend. I will miss him always and cherish the many happy memories
