John Alan Brown

He was an avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved the mountains, streams, and exploring back country roads. John was a jack of all trades, a helping hand to everyone, and could fix nearly everything.

John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cathy; son, Casey; daughter, Jennifer; mother, Margaret; and sisters, Norma and Judith. He will be missed by many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Calvin Brown.

A visitation with the family will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm, Sunday, September 18, 2016, at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC, 28227.

A graveside burial service will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday October 29, 2016 at Hillside Cemetery in Gorham, Maine. Friends and family are welcome.

A second visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00 pm, Monday, September 19, 2016 with a funeral service to immediately follow in the funeral home chapel.
