Ken was raised in Boone, NC, where he graduated from Appalachian State University. He went on to obtain advanced degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Ken was a retired educator from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where he worked for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ramey Mazzaferro.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela M. Mazzaferro.
Friends of the family are invited to a visitation from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Lee Proctor will officiate.
