

She was born March 17th, 1928 to the late Onas H. Thomas and Susie Tucker Thomas. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Price graduated from Burnsville High School in 1945 and worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company until her marriage to C.M. Bivens in 1947. She graduated from Waldron's Business School. Most of her career was spent in management with the temporary employment industry.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Bivens Perkins of Charlotte, North Carolina; sons, Randy M. Bivens (Diane) of Waxhaw, North Carolina, and David M. Price (Suzanne) of Weddington, North Carolina; grandchildren, Meredith Bivens Sheehan (David) of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Kara Bivens, Lauren Price, and Logan Price; sister, Doris Watkins; brothers, Robert Thomas, H. C. Thomas (Lois), and Roland Thomas (Gail); sister-in-law, Shelby Thomas; and many nieces and nephews, who were all very special to her.
She was preceded in death by husbands, C.M. Bivens and D.M. Price, granddaughter, Hilary Bivens, as well as sister, Barbara Turner, brother, Onas Delane Thomas, sister-in-law, Johnsie Thomas, and brother-in-law, Jon Watkins.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Reverend Arnold Kessler of Hickory Grove Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Wingate Cemetery in Wingate, North Carolina.
The family would like to thank family, friends, and Dr. Lori Taylor and Dr. John Pasquini for their support over the years.
