Patsy Virginia Long

Patsy Virginia Long, 73, of Indian Trail, North Carolina, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 2, 2015, at Matthews Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Grace Long and her sister, Libby Kivett.

Patsy was a lifelong member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, where she dedicated her life to caring for the children of the church for over 30 years and was awarded the “Mother of the Year” award by her church. She retired as office manager from Austin Electric Company after many years of service.

Patsy cherished her family and friends and appreciated all who helped care for her.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Myers; nieces, Amy Long, Beth Gregory; nephews, Scott Kivett and Randy Kivett; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, in the Rotunda at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, immediately followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. The Reverend Rusty Benton and The Reverend Lee Koontz will officiate. Interment will follow in Ritch Family Cemetery, Indian Trail.
