Ruth Wilson Walters

Ruth Wilson Walters, age 88, of Mint Hill, NC, passed away at Morningside Assisted Living of Gastonia Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Ruth was born on May 17, 1926 to William Henry Wilson and Mamie Cochrane in Mint Hill, NC. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Reece Winfield Walters; sisters, Margaret Penniger and Dot Turner; and brothers, Mack Wilson, Junior Wilson, Bud Wilson and Harold Wilson.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (Howard) Pritchard of Collettsville, NC, Doug (Shannon) Walters of Little River, SC and Linda (John) Foster of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, Gary Reeder, Tonya Reeder Honeycutt, Jason and Brian Foster, Wendy Foster Whitt, Shae Walters White, Jacob and Landon Walters; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Zelda Gladden, Ruby Simpson, Francis Goode, Evelyn Hilton; and a brother, Ed Wilson.

Ruth retired from Holiday Cleaners on 7th St. in Charlotte.

A visitation will be held from 11:00am till 12:00pm on Saturday, 8-9-2014, with the funeral service immediately following at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd. in Mint Hill. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Memory Gardens on Lawyers Rd.
