Edna Charrow was born on 05/09/1918 and died on 12/23/2018. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Russian immigrants. She moved to west to North Hollywood in 1953. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Herbert Charrow, two brothers and one sister. She leaves behind two devoted sons Robert (Veda), and Mark (Sharon). She also leaves behind her biological grandchildren Elizabeth Charrow, Alexandra (Tom) Laakso, Nicholas (Jackie) Charrow and McKenna (Kenny) Towles and blended grandchildren Damian (Maryi) D'Entremont, Rachael Stone and Josh (Marlowe) Stone. She was lucky enough to have seven great grandchildren, Cadence, Elliot, Yona, Logan, Clara, Cece and Harlan; and her niece Rita (Gillian) Silverberg. She will be greatly missed by all.
Aside from being a loving and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she contributed to the war effort during WWII, working as a film editor for the war department, in San Pedro, California.
She loved movies, books, plays and reading. She attended many classes over the years merely to improve and broaden her horizons. She loved and participated in Israeli folk dancing for many years. And she loved square dancing for over twenty five years with Herbert. She lived a full and complete life and was totally independent for all of her 100 years, except for the last two months of life. Needless to say she took great care of herself eating very little meat before it was fashionable to do so.
Services at Groman Eden Mortuary Mission Hills 11500 Sepulveda Boulevard on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 3pm held in the Eternal Light Chapel at Eden Memorial Park.
