Henry Stanger Rose of Northridge, California, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 (15 Adar I 5776), at 89. Services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at 2 pm, in the Groman Eden Chapel of Groman Eden Mortuary. Services will be officiated by Rabbi Ahud Sela. Flowers are being accepted.
Henry is preceded in passing by his cherished daughter, Robin Perrine, Of Blessed Memory; and is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores Rose; his children, Robert Rose, William "Billy" (Leslie) Rose, and Michele (Alan) Naggar; his step-grandchildren, Brian and Amy Whitman; and his step-great-grandchild, Gabrielle Whitman.
Henry, or as everyone knew him, Hank, was a devoted father and friend. He was a family man in every sense of the word, and spoke of his wife and kids to everyone he met. He was an avid lover of history, geography, and language. Hank cruising with his wife no matter where the ships took them. In his later years, his selfless devotion to the study, preservation, and dissemination of the Yiddish language and culture through adult education gave him tremendous pleasure and brought joy to those who participated in his endeavor.
