

Natalie Grossman of Oak Park, California, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, educator and philanthropist, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 (22 Av 5775), at 85. Coincidentally, the 61st. anniversary of her marriage to the love of her life, Aaron. Services will be held Sunday, August 16, 2015, at 1 pm, in the Eternal Light Chapel of Groman Eden Mortuary. Services will be officiated by Rabbi Jeff Resnick, and will conclude graveside in Eden Memorial Park. Natalie is preceded in passing by her cherished granddaughter, Julie Zider (Of Blessed Memory), and her brother, Marvin (Annette) Weitz (Of Blessed Memory); and is survived by her beloved husband, Aaron Grossman; her children, Marc (Shirley) Grossman, David Grossman, and her daughter, Sheryl (Larry) Zide; and her grandchildren, Lauren Grossman, Erik Grossman, Danielle Zide, Jason Zide, Amy Zide, and Sydney (Ben) Bessner.
Born in New York City, Natalie moved to Los Angeles with her parents and brother, Marvin, and settled in Boyle Heights. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, and attended the University of Southern California.
Always passionate about young people, Natalie spent 30 years as a special education instructor with the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she was honored for her work. She was a championship bowler, pan player, avid tennis watcher, and rabid LA Dodger fan. Active in the community, she traveled the world as First Lady of the Al Malaikah Shrine, while Aaron served as Potentate, and gave her time to the annual LA Kings Golf Tournament, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
