Stephen Griefer

Stephen Griefer, beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather passed away in Los Angeles, CA. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Paula Griefer, his children, Roberta Griefer Giannone and Alan Bruce Griefer and grandchildren Maurice Griefer, Benjamin Griefer, Jet Griefer, Rachel Giannone and Robert Giannone.

Stephen Griefer was a retired corporate executive, real estate investor and business owner. He started his career on Wall Street with Shearson Hammil & Co. rising to VP, National Mutual Funds Sales Manager. After too many cold winters in New York, he developed a desire for Southern California living and joined Wellington Management Company (now Vanguard) as West Coast VP. He eventually left Wellington to form his own real estate investment company, prior to owning Academy Lamps, a high end wholesale lighting business.

Stephen loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the theater, the opera and fishing.

His education included a B.A. 1954 in Economics with honors, New York University and an M.S. Business degree 1955 from Columbia University Graduate A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017, 11:00am at Eden Memorial Park, 11500 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345.
