
He was born on April 6, 1935, to the late Claude and Bertha Presley. Clayton was a United States veteran, having proudly served in the Air Force. He later worked as a train master for CSX Railroad for 30 years before retiring.
Clayton had many interests and enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors and treasure hunting at flea markets. He was an avid gardener and loved growing his own fruits and vegetables.
More importantly, Clayton loved and cherished his family and enjoyed the precious memories he made with them. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Along with his parents, Clayton is preceded in death by his sisters, Pauline Hinde, Christine Courtney, Margarette Connell, and Patricia McManus. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Clayton (Cheryl) and Greg (Tracy); grandchildren, Alexandra (Kyle) and Haley; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Cameron; and sister, Nancy Riggins.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lakeland Memorial Park, located at 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, North Carolina.
