Henry Elliott

Henry Elliott, age 73, of Monroe, NC was called home on Sunday, August 2, 2015 to be with his heavenly father. He was surrounded by his family and the love of his life, Lynda Lou. After a lengthy hospital stay, he passed away at Jesse Helms Center. He was born in Union County on May 25, 1942 to the late Howard "Deck" Elliott and his mother Margie Hayes.

Henry met the love of his life when he was nineteen years old and she was seventeen years old. They were married for 54 years. He was always an avid softball player and raised his family on the ball field. Henry was retired from Phillips Weaving. He was a devoted family man and was loved by all who knew him.

He loved the Lord and his family with all his heart!

He is survived by his wife Lynda Pressley Elliott, of Monroe; his children, Janet Murray (Dale) of Wingate, NC, Jeff Elliott (Brenda) of Altan, NC, Crystal Mullis (Charles) of Seymour, TN, and Jason Elliott of Monroe, NC. Grandchildren; Dale Murray Jr., Chad Murray (Shallon), Logan Murray (Jo), James Elliott (Lindsay), Jamie Elliott (Matt), David Elliott, Kevin Elliott (Nicole), Charles Mullis IV (Sara), Travis Mullis (Nicole), Casey Mullis, Cheyenne Mullis. Great grandchildren include; Sebastian Ridley, Richard Elliott, Gage Mullis, Grayson Willis, Raiden Elliott, Sydney Rape, Jordan Murray, and Henry Rape. Special daughter/niece, Kristy Jacobs. Honorary grandchildren; Devonte, Dashoun, Jahlil, Jayden, and Morgan. Brothers; Johnny Elliott (Annie), Wayne Elliott (Mandy), and Lane Elliott (Jennifer). Sisters; Jean Price, Ann Jackson (Albert), Missy Elliott, and special friend Teresa Starnes.

The family would like to thank the staff at CMC-Union and the Jesse Helms Center for the excellent care and love and compassion that they had for Henry and our family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 6, 2015, at West Monroe Baptist Church, with a final viewing from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
